Google Home now speaks Spanish and is available in Mexico

Many have criticized Google for launching new products and services in a limited number of regions (mainly the United States). It would make sense that a global company has at least a handful of countries prepped for new launches, but that is rarely the case for Google. The company has slowly expanded the locations where Google Home is available as well as the languages that it supports. Today, it has been made official that Google Home speaks three dialects of Spanish and is finally available in Mexico.

Those who have been waiting for the day can be happy that they do not have to wait anymore. The assistant on Google Home will now speak and understand the Spanish language. As mentioned, the new update adds support for three different dialects of Spanish including Spain, Mexico, and the United States. Support for the new language was actually added earlier this month but it wasn’t until today that the company made the new addition official. With this update also comes a new country that customers can purchase a Google Home device in too.

So, if you live in Mexico then you have likely been annoyed at the fact that Google would not directly sell you a Google Home device. The devices were still listed on the Google Store website and interested parties were able to click a Find Retailers button to learn where they could purchase one for themselves. You were then told that devices were available at Best Buy, Coppel, Costco, Liverpool, Mercado Libre, Office Depot, RadioShack, Sanborns, and Sears but none of them had begun selling the products yet.

With today’s announcement though, we’re sure that most of these retailers will finally begin selling the Google Home devices The Coppel retailer even had a suggested sales price for the Google Home at 3,649 pesos (approx. $183) and the Google Home Mini at 1,499 Mexican pesos ($75).
