Google Partners with uBreakiFix Again to Offer Exclusive Walk-In Repairs for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL

Apple had an advantage over Google when the company was running its Nexus program as they didn’t have an official place for customers to come in for repairs. There are some local phone repair shops in various cities but it never was official like what iPhones have had with the Apple Store. This changed last year with the launch of the Pixel and the Pixel XL thanks to a partnership with uBreakiFix and the two companies have agreed to extend the partnership for the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL.

If you’ve ever had to bring an Android smartphone or tablet in for repairs then you have likely heard of uBreakiFix before. As mentioned, there are some local repair shops that may be closer to your location but uBreakiFix has a reputation that generally outpaces the competition. Depending on where you live, you may pass by one of these shops on the way to work each day. For me, there are about a dozen different locations around the Atlanta area alone.

The company spans across both the United States as well as Canada and last year they announced an official partnership with Google for repairs on their first smartphones: the Pixel and the Pixel XL. The company offers same-day repairs and they actually use official OEM parts so whatever you get fixed will be replaced with the actual part that’s supposed to be there. There’s no need to set an appointment for screen repairs and there’s even a mail-in service for those who may live far away from their closest store.

uBreakiFix currently has over 335 retail locations and the company says they’ve fixed tens of thousands of Pixel smartphones already. If you’ve purchased Google’s preferred protection plan then you can still get your device serviced from uBreakiFix for those instances when you don’t want to send your phone to Google for repairs.
