Google Announces Headphones Optimized for Google Assistant, Starting with the Bose QC 35 II

The name Bisto was originally thought to be a codename for a specific product, and at one point we speculated it was simply a pair of headphones that Google was handing out to their employees. As it turns out though, Bisto is the codename for an entirely new product line that is being integrated into Android. These connected headphones are said to be receiving a big push from Google with their own dedicated support page. Leaks pointed to the first of this new product line being from Bose and today Google has made these headphones official.

Details of the Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones leaked exactly one week ago when 9to5Google received confidential documents about them. They didn’t have anything to show off in their original article though, but they were able to confirm that Google Assistant would be built-in and you would have the ability to “control music, send & receive texts, and get answers using just your voice.” All of this was handled with a new, dedicated Action button on the side of the headphones.

Shortly after that article was published, a Reddit user ended up uploading a couple of photos that showed the exact headphones that were just leaked. We saw confirmation of Google using the “Google Assistant built-in” term/logo and today the connected headphones have officially announced. Google is referring to these headphones as being “optimized for Google Assistant” and is marketing them as a device to “get on-the-go help.”

This new product line starts with the QuietComfort 35 II headphones from Bose and they’re being released in the United States, Australia, Canada, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. They will work on both Android as well as iOS, and you simply need to follow a few instructions within the Google Assistant application once pair them to your device via Bluetooth.
