Recently, OnePlus has been putting a lot of work into bettering the experience on their older devices. With a recently launched Open Beta release for the OnePlus 3/3T, Project Treble support for the OnePlus 5/5T, and a software update plan, the company has been improving leaps and bounds over what they once were. Now, they’re doing even more, and have released an updated version of the OnePlus Gallery application for the OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T, OnePlus 5, and OnePlus 5T. It includes all of the video editing tools available on the OnePlus 6. Take a look at the changelog below.

The features that have been added are all available on the stock gallery application on the OnePlus 6. This includes the ability to trim videos, add background music, apply filters, and apply a slow-motion effect on a video. The ability to trim videos is incredibly useful, though admittedly the others aren’t as much. Still, it’s great that OnePlus is updating older devices especially as old as two years in the case of the OnePlus 3.

To make use of the feature, you simply need to select a video you want to edit and select the “edit” option. You can then modify the video in a number of different ways that previously required a third-party application. With the OnePlus 3 (and the OnePlus 3T) nearing the end of the road in terms of software updates, the company’s dedication to enhancing the user experience can’t go unnoticed. You can download the latest version from the Google Play Store down below, as it doesn’t seem to be a staged rollout. There are a number of other features that users will certainly request be backported to their devices (such as custom accent colors), but this is a great start if OnePlus intends to continue that trend.
