Fresh Leaks of the Upcoming Nokia 8 Point to a Snapdragon 835 in HMD Global’s First Nokia Flagship

HMD Global is looking to completely leverage the Nokia brand and all of its goodwill with an upcoming flagship launch. This flagship will reportedly put Nokia as a brand on the radar of top performing smartphones considering its generous specifications.

The newest leaks coming in from Winfuture.de mention that HMD Global’s flagship will be called the Nokia 8 with the model number TA-1004. The leak suggests that there will be no Nokia 9 for the time being as the Nokia 8’s specifications will be better than previously rumored.

This leak suggests that the flagship Nokia 8 will sport the top-of-the-line SoC from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 835. Further, the device will sport 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. Winfuture reports that the Nokia 8 will come to Europe in a dual SIM variant, but HMD Global is also likely to produce single SIM variants, though the website is unsure of the possibility of other variations of RAM and memory.

The Nokia 8 will arrive in at least four colors — “Blue”, “Steel”, “Gold/Blue” and “Gold/Copper”. It will also reportedly bear pricing expected from flagship devices, as Winfuture reports Scandinavian pricing of the device to be €589 (~$675), inclusive of the country’s high VAT rate. Other European nations will likely receive the device at around the €550 ($630) mark, though we will have to wait for the device to be officially launched to confirm.

Winfuture also remains unsure of previously leaked specifications for the Nokia 8 as they do not line up with the information they have received. Previous rumors mentioned the Nokia flagship to sport a 5.7″ 1440p display and a dual camera setup, but these could not be corroborated.
